Weekend

Here's an update on my weekend.

Saturday morning Lady had a vet appointment to check out her ear that had been bothering her.  So Kitty Daddy and I got up bright and early to take her.  Now you see, Lady is a little emotional and can throw a tantrum when she wants to.  We got lucky though and she was very well behaved.  (Except when she refused to walk through the front doors of the vet and I had to carry her in while the receptionists looked on, but we'll let that one slide...) Turns out there wasn't anything majorly wrong, just a ball of wax.  However, the vet did say that Lady was alittttllleee bit on the husky side.  Poor Lady :( He even jiggled her fat to make his point, rude.

At least she doesn't look too broken up about it.
Sunday was a day of lounging around.  I camped out in bed almost all day and worked on homework and embroidered while jamming Adele.  I told you guys, I am all up on her bandwagon these days.  Here's the progress I've made on Dennis...
I don't know how I feel about it.  I mean it's alright for a first attempt but it's a little too arts and crafts for my liking.  Oh well, I'm sure Cat will appreciate it anyways, she loves all things Dennis.

Hope you guys had a nice weekend!

Christmas Presents

So people, we have approximately 10 more weeks until Christmas, and that means no more procrastination in the craft department.  This Christmas, I really want to give handmade gifts whenever possible.  So I have been making a list of what I want to do for all of my loved ones and surprisingly I had pretty much everyone covered.

So a few days ago I went to our local craft store to pick up the supplies for Cat's birthday or Christmas present.  I am planning on embroidering this pic of Dennis and either framing it or making a pillow or something along those lines.

There is just one minor problem, I have never embroidered before.  However, the handy dandy internet has been very useful and this is my progress so far.
So we'll see if it works out or not.  But after this is done, I think it will be time to move on to my Rizzy's present.  It's going to be a good one!

Happy Crafting!

A day in the life of Dennis

Comfy?

Yep she did that herself. We look over and there she is. I think we peed.

Den you can't fit under there no matter how hard you try.

Puppy love. Or at least according to Dennis.

Puppy love. And once again, in Dennis' eyes only.

No Dennis, that windowsill was not built just so you could lay your fat cat self on there and watch the birdies. And if you notice there seems to be a suspicious set of black legs in the right of this picture. Hmmm...

Excuse me Dennis I'm on watch.

Excuse you Lady? Dennis of course wasn't phased.

Baby Dennis

Dennis is the nickname of our Mom's long-hair dachshund Gracie. Dennis is short for Dennis the Menace. That says it all. I just came across these baby Dennis pics and was Awwww-ing so I thought I'd share.
Is she not the cutest! That was a little over a year ago. Here's Dennis now.
What a crazy monkey. No joke she sleeps like that. She is the cutest. She has many talents. One being that she can talk. She talks to our Mom to tell her what she wants. It's hilarious. She also bobs for ice cubes. We throw a couple of ice cubes into her water bowl and she bobs for them, blowing bubbles and all and comes up with a soaked snout and wet ears. Then she proceeds to drop the cube on the ground and go in for the rest. Precious.

My Mom's want list was a little black mini dachshund girl. She came home on her first search with a brown little standard girl (although we didn't realize that minor detail until she kept getting bigger) with a black racing stripe and a mohawk. I'm not exaggerating she had a black stripe running down the back of her body and all of her hair stands on end along the back of her neck in the shape of a mohawk just like her Dad's. This is what happens when you send out my mother and the cat person (aka M) on a find a puppy hunt. I typed up strict instructions, did they bother to print the instructions, no.

O well. She has a crazy personality and we love her to death. Rather frequently I think my Mom is talking to me and I say "What Kitty?" she says "Nothing." I'm like "Didn't you just say something?" Kitty "No I was talking to Dennis." "O" Yes this happens regularly.

It's difficult to describe this canine of ours. Maybe we will post a video someday so we can do her some justice. Or just tell some stories about her antics from time to time.

Love ya Den!

Happy Summer everyone!
