I love our blog

Can I seriously say how proud I am of myself and my sister for doing something we have always wanted to do? We always came up with excuses galore as to why we should hold off. Not enough time. Nothing to talk about. Blah Blah. But we did it! And this is post #112!

Eventhough it's "just a blog" it seemed so daunting to us at the time. Just like our Etsy store! But we're working on it! We actually have so many ideas and I know we just need to bite the bullet and give it a go.

I know this may sound weird but it gives you confidence. Now that we have finally done something we wanted to do and enjoy it, it just makes me feel like we can really make our dreams come true and that we are the only ones standing in our way.

Congrats Lyddy! Our little slice of the world wide web is amazing and I absolutely love it. I am so proud of you and us and there isn't anyone else in the world I would want to have done this with. Love ya girl, you're the best.

PS: Lyd tried on my high waisted short creations today, they look steller on her. Not even kidding. She has long thin legs, she looked amazing. I don't want to shove them on her because eventhough I like them, it doesn't mean she has to. But seriously they look amazing on her.

PSS: Fun Fact: Our banner at the top of the beach scene under "Give it a go" is actually a picture taken by Lyddy in Maine. Seriously that place is amazing. If you haven't been you must go. Our Grammie was telling me today about the garden show she just went on and the first house they went to was a lavender farm. She said it was hills and hills of different varieties of lavender and when the wind would blow they would all sway and you would smell all of the lavender. She said it was like heaven. And she said they had an old barn that had rows and rows of bundles of lavender drying. Seriously Maine is like heaven. Ya look over the lavender hills to the ocean and mountains, thats my paradise.

Books and Blogs

Well I did it again. I need to master the art of reading and being able to put the book down. I just get sucked in. It's a problem. Seeing as I procrastinated today because of it. But what am I about to do once I finish this post? Read another book.

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen is about a girl who was forced to grow up too quickly and finds herself on a quest to reclaim some of her childhood the summer before college. Sarah Dessen is one of our favorite authors. Or should I say used to be. Don't get me wrong this book was great and she is a great writer but they are becoming a little too juvenile for us. O well. I will still read them. Also her plots are all very similar. I also hate the cover. It does not relate to the story line at all.

Goddess of Spring by P.C. Cast is the book I'm about to start. I'll let you know how it goes. Well while I was just finding the link for this book I realized that it is not the first in the series but the second. Woops! I'll probably read it anyway. Cast also writes the House of Night novels that M and I read.

By the way I returned the other books that would have broken my rule. Couldn't find any motivation to read them. I went to the library on Sunday and it is so hard to find books! It's just such a random process its annoying.

Blog time. I have been loving the food blogs lately, baking especially. Look I made that is one of my new found faves. Lottie and Doof is another one of my faves. I just drool. Actually it's making me really hungry. Knit1Slip1 also posts lots of food related stuff. Cast Iron Darling is another one that I frequent. Check them out! I'll of course let you know when I finally make a dessert from them. That will be soon actually because lil bro's bday and fathers day is coming up. Can't wait!

Happy Monday,

Riz

Beauty Blogs

So I have a few blogs to share with you today.  I know I already shared my little problem with product, so these blogs really aren't going to be a shocker to anyone.

First off is The Beauty Department.  This is Lauren Conrad's (Laguna Beach and the Hills anyone?) blog along with two other people and it is all about beauty tips and tricks.  As we speak I am rocking a hairstyle (Twister Sister) I found on their blog.  I did not follow the directions very well though so it didn't come out as good as her.

My other new fave is Hair Romance.  This is a lovely blog based out of Australia (and what isn't cool that comes out of Australia, I mean Oprah took an entire favorite things audience there, come on people, it's got the O stamp of approval).  Anywho, it is all about hair.  Hair styles, hair product, hair care, and hair styling tools. One word, awesome. (I have already tried the side reverse braid which I did a little differently. I thought it came out nice, however my significant other said it reminded him a little of Princess Leia, which burst my bubble a bit, but oh well)

Despite my product obsession, I feel like I always look frumpy.  I never really do my hair, my makeup isn't that special, and I struggle with matching my clothes so much that you would think it was against my religion.  To put it simply, my outward appearance does not take priority for me.  However, since I am a constant contradiction, I am super envious of those girls that traipse around all put together and cute-like, they just give us frumpsters a bad name. While my big sis isn't a traipser, she is always put together and polished.

So.....in an effort to be a big kid, look polished, and just give off the idea that I at least considered my appearance before I walked out the door, I have been all about these beauty blogs.  Thanks to these ladies, I have been trying new hairstyles and becoming more adventurous with my makeup.  Idk, the big girl M could be coming out to play here people, stay tuned.
